It was the at the start of summer 2004 in Rexburg, Idaho. Darcy had decided to stay for the summer semester at BYU-Idaho. As Darcy and her neighbor were hanging out on their porch a guy rode up on his motorcycle. So naturally she was intrigued.
The neighbor introduced Darcy to her friend, Daniel. After chatting for a bit, Darcy asked if she could have a ride...And then all the other girls decided they wanted a ride too.
It wasn't love at first sight. Darcy had told one of her roommates "I'd never date Daniel. He is too much of a flirt." And Daniel was interested in Darcy's roommate. Besides Darcy was a city girl. She was getting her degree in journalism and was going to live downtown New York City and write for a magazine. And Daniel, even though he was a business major, was an Idaho farm boy. Over the next month they became good friends. And then best friends, who spent all their free time together. Daniel took Darcy out to his family ranch and showed her how many things Idaho had to offer, like horse riding, four-wheeling, boating and good looking farm boys that rode motorcycles. By mid June Daniel and Darcy were dating.
Daniel knew early in the relationship that he loved her. Darcy, never having been in love before, was "I love you shy." By the beginning of fall Darcy knew that she loved him. A week before Thanksgiving Daniel knelt before her and asked her to marry him. She said yes.
Daniel and Darcy were married, on April 26, 2005 in the San Diego, California Temple, for time and all eternity.
Our Time Together
We have had so many adventures together since saying "I do."
Right after we were married we worked together as Range Riders. Basically modern day cowboys. We lived in a one room cabin, rode horses all day, checked on the cows out on the range and herded them around. It was such a good, simple life. It was perfect for us. We loved it so much that after working at a ski resort during winter we decided to be Range Riders a second summer and fall.
Neither of us had finished our degree yet and having a degree is very important to both of us. So we went back to school. In December 2007 Daniel graduated from BYU-Idaho with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, with a minor in Marketing. At the same time Darcy graduated from BYU-Idaho with a Bachelor of Science in Communications, with a minor in Business Management.
We worked on the farm for a year, but then decided that there were more adventures for us to have before we settled down.
We have traveled to the Bahamas, Hawaii, Italy, and Ireland. We rode a motorcycle to Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore and over Bear Tooth Pass. We have snowboarded at eight different ski resorts around the Northwest and Canada.
Next, we worked at a ski resort together during the winter and in the summer we'd move back to Daniel's family ranch to work and also work at a fly fishing lodge. Daniel then went back to school to get his teaching certificate.
Currently Daniel is a third grade teacher at a fantastic elementary school. Darcy is working at the same school as the computer lab teacher. We are settled down and want to start our family, but we need your help.
We want to adopt.
