About Daniel

I was born to wonderful parents in 1979.  Growing up it seemed like there was always something to do, having 7 brothers and sisters makes life's dull moments few and far between.  I constantly chased my two big brothers, thinking I could keep up, but usually ending up crying to mom because "those mean brothers" left me behind.  Summers were the best.  With Grandma living next door, it was like the cousins were always coming just to visit me.  We would also go visit my mom's parents in Burley where my favorite pasttime was chasing rabbits.
When I wasn't living summer to the fullest I was enjoying my time in school.  I was never a star student but I enjoyed learning.  During high school I was lucky to hang out with a great group of friends who I am still close with to this day.
After a few semesters at college I left to serve a church mission in Sydney Australia.  I was called to learn the Mandarin Chinese language and proselyte to the wonderful Chinese people.  My mission will always be a time in my life I treasure.  I enjoyed the people so much I decided to visit Mainland China a year after I returned from my mission.  Getting to see the Forbidden City, climb around on the Great Wall of China, and see Tiananmen Square was simply amazing!
After my mission I returned to school and decided on Business Management for a major.   One day I rode my motorcycle over to visit a friend.  When I pulled up I was mobbed by her neighbors and begged for a ride.  OK, maybe I wasn't mobbed.  But I did offer the backseat to one girl, a girl who I soon found out was quite fun to spend time with.  Darcy didn't mind me coming over to visit her every spare minute I had, so that is what I did.  That summer we spent just a little bit of time together.  My favorite thing to say to her was "I love you too."  I had decided to pull the trigger and tell her I loved her but she wasn't quite ready to reciprocate, so anytime she looked like she might tell me I would say "I love you too."  One day while on a motorcycle ride she leaned close, gave me a big squeeze, and told me she loved me.  We almost crashed!
Later that year I got up the guts to kneel in front of her and ask her to be my wife.  Lucky for me she said yes!  I'll never forget the way her eyes sparkled like the diamonds on her finger.
