About Darcy

I am Darcy.

I grew up in a town just north of Seattle, Washington.

I am the youngest of four kids, two sisters and a brother.

My parents are converts to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but were baptized before they had kids. All of us kids were raised LDS and are all still strong members of the church. My three siblings served full-time missions, and three of us were married in the temple (my other sister had not had the opportunity to marry before her death in 2012). My parents are coming up on their 45th wedding anniversary.

I had a good life growing up. I lived in the same house my entire childhood, where my parents still live today. I loved to play My Little Pony with my sister. All four of us would play out in the forest behind our house and build forts and make up wild adventures. I have memories of going on family camping trips, and of a road trip to the Grand Canyon. For a week or two every summer we would go to California to visit my mom's family. As kids we spent the whole time swimming or trying to catch lizards (and frantically screaming when they'd drop their tails).
I liked school, I was smart and a pretty good student. But I loved being with my friends even more. I met one best friend in third grade and the second one in fifth. From then until graduation we were inseparable. We did everything together.
After high school I was headed to BYU-Idaho. Honestly, I wasn't super thrilled about going to Idaho. But it was one of the best decisions of my life. I loved college! It was so much fun! I met some amazing people and found wonderful roommates, with whom I am still best friends with today.
